Blog Post #2

-after reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" i was ecstatic to find out the book- witch came out in the 60,s- was made into a movie. -witch came out in 82- called "Blade Runner". unfortunately the movie was horrible. not only was it bad, it was nothing like the book at all. i felt that only the names remained the same between the book and the movie. "director" Ridley Scott found the book a lame excuse to put together a painfully futuristic film noir staring Harrison Ford and effectively spit on Philip's masterpiece of a novel. somehow the film managed to win several awards and get nominated for both the academy awards and the golden globes. maybe the film isn't worthless but it is the opposite of the book witch ruined it for me.

  1. I believe that is one of the harshest reviews of "Blade Runner" I have ever heard. It is usually been referred to as a good movie. Is it the movie itself that you don't like, or just that it is so different from the book? I can understand not appreciating the movie for being different from the book, but perhaps viewed as separate pieces of work they are both exceptional. As a contrasting example, "Eragon" the book was fairly interesting, and a fun read. "Eragon" the movie, was boring by its own standard and nothing at all like the book at the same time.
